About Rebecca Thomas
                                I am a qualified counsellor offering a safe, confidential and professional counselling service.
 
Each person seeks counselling for their own reason and everyone uses their sessions differently. Some people feel low and just need someone to listen, whilst others want support in working through their problems to reach a particular goal.
																														                                My training, work experience and any achievement
								                                I am qualified as an integrative counsellor which simply means I am qualified to use several theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person centred and Psychodynamic. I am able to adapt the way I work to suit the individual and their needs.
 
I have several years experience working with mental ill heath and substance abuse in both adults and young people. The conditions I am experienced in working with include; depression, anxiety, stress, bi polar, Schizo affective disorder, Borderline personality disorders, self harm, trauma, abuse, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and eating disorders to name only a few.
 
I have years of experience counselling young people with issues such as depression, anxiety, abuse, drug/
alcohol abuse, self harm, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), family related problems, financial difficulties, to name a few.
 
I have also gained experience within Women’s Aid, counselling women who have been effected by domestic abuse.
As well as being an experienced and qualified counsellor I am also experienced in managing mental health units.
 
I am a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work inline with their code of ethics.
